Montegrappa The Batman Limited Edition 330 fountain pen fine nib ISB1N2TC − Designs for The Batman Limited Edition were created by Montegrappa’s in-house artists, modellers and engineers based on preview illustrations and artists’ impressions provided by WBCP. Key references include Batman’s Batsuit (barrel), gauntlet and grappling hooks (cap), and grapple gun (clip). − The official “The Batman” logo is set into the lower barrel, cast in miniature from ruthenium-plated brass. The logo is also laser-engraved into the cap top – a reference to the Bat-Signal. − The Batman: Limited Edition comprises ceramic-tumbled titanium, polished black ruthenium-plated brass and stainless steel. − Grade 2 titanium used in the production of The Batman: Limited Edition is milled using a state-of-the-art 5- axis, numerically-controlled machining centre. This recent addition to Montegrappa’s technical capability enables it to create complex three-dimensional componentry with unprecedented precision. − Fountain pens feature Montegrappa’s in-house 32-step piston-fill mechanism and a professional-grade, 8mm nib handmade from 18K gold and plated with polished black ruthenium. The silhouette of Batman’s cowl is realised on the nib using fibre laser engraving. − The Batman: Limited Edition is made in editions of 330 fountain pens and 330 rollerballs – a reference to the character’s comic-book debut on March 30, 1939. Each is individually numbered and certified, and supplied in a deluxe presentation case that includes an exclusive, lacquered wood display stand. − This edition marks Montegrappa’s second limited-edition collaboration with the Batman franchise. In 2012, Batman was issued under its Cult Series imprint. The arrival of The Batman: Limited Edition writing collection also marks ten years since Batman’s last solo cinema adventure.
