The decision to start a brand specialized in the management of artistic lacquerware is not made out of impulse or boldness to claim ourselves as ambassadors for traditional culture. It is a decision naturally occurred in our attentive experience with the aesthetics in oriental lacquer art. “千玉” (qiān yù) is a beautiful wish we had during the exploration of the aesthetics in oriental lacquer art: in Chiense, “千”(qiān, a thousand) is both a numeral and an adjective, referring to large quantities and full of variety, the meaning of which hasn’t changed from ancient times till today. “玉”(yù, jade) is the best illustration of Chinese people’s expectations for beauty and also appeals to the feature of lacquer, which feels as warm and smooth as jade.Nowadays, 「千玉 QIANYU」 is discovering and recreating the beauty of oriental lacquer art with our constant pursuit and exploration. Based on such passion and belief, the team of 「千玉 QIANYU」, naturally and spontaneously, is willing to devote ourselves to the cause of our beloved culture. Engraved with the "QIANYU brand na????e and lacquer leaf logo," it signifies its status as a handcrafted raw lacquer piece.
